Prospera Business Network's history is a story of forward-thinking members of the business community devoted to the creation of a thriving economy. In 1985 a group of dedicated business leaders established the organization, known as the Gallatin Development Corporation until 2006, to foster business-related activities and growth.
The organization has evolved with the business community it was created to serve. During the difficult economic times of the 1980s, the organization focused on actively recruiting employers. As the economy improved, the focus turned to supporting technology and the creation of high-paying jobs in clean industries. Throughout its existence, Prospera Business Network has been influential in promoting a strong economy.
Across the years, Prospera Business Network has added various programs and services to meet the needs of local businesses. Notably, in 1991 it became the host of the Small Business Development Center to offer necessary expertise and consultation for area entrepreneurs.
Although the business environment is ever-changing, and the competitive landscape is unpredictable, Prospera Business Network seeks to assist businesses by providing a valuable resource and promoting stability of the local economy.
Today, the Prospera Business Network retains the vision of its founders. Through our dedication to encouraging and supporting business start-up, expansion, retention and relocation, we continue to aid businesses and promote the long-term vitality of our economy.
