The Cost of Living Index measures regional differences in the cost of consumer goods and services, excluding taxes and non-consumer expenditures, for professional and managerial households in the top income quintile. It is based on more than 50,000 prices covering almost 60 different items for which costs are collected quarterly by participating urban areas.
The Index is compiled and published quarterly by ACCRA – The Council for Community and Economic Research. The Prospera Business Network is ACCRA’s local participant in the study. Each quarter, Prospera collects specific data set forth by the ACCRA program and submits its findings for record.
The national average composite index is set at 100. Data for the city of Bozeman is represented below. Adjacent urban areas have not yet been included, but with continued growth they may be added in the near future. For more information about ACCRA and its services, visit accra.org.
